Vowel Practice 1

Instructions. Identify the vowels' sounds in the words that are part of the following text.



In a simple ceremony at Runnymede, Queen Elizabeth II gave three acres of English land to the American people as a memorial to the late President Kennedy.

Runnymede has special significance to English-Speaking people. In 1215 the barons of England forced King John to sign the Magna Carta there.

By this charter, the King was forced to give certain rights to his people. The ideas of freedom, contained in that document, are still important today.
